Parolio is a creative director, producer and designer. At the early age of fourteen he started his working career as the assistant of the producer Anita Ontiveros director of Univisión Dominicana / Rahintel television network. After taking many courses for video production and fine arts, in 1992 he started his studies of design at Altos de Chavón School of Design where he won The Charles Bludhorn scholarship for academic achievement.
Parolio moved to New York to continue his studies at Parson School of Design, where he was taught by some of design’s most respected figures such as Ivan Chermayeff, Henry Wolf, Ikko Tanaka and many more… He graduated with honors in 1996 and received “The Visual Communicators Award” from The Art Directors Club of New York as promising future art director.
In 1997 he was hired as junior art director at NiCE LTD. the celebrated design studio of Davide Nicosia. NiCE is one of the most dynamic design studios in the United States and Asia and works with the most renowned premium brand names. With a team of designers from over 15 nationalities, working for this studio was a very enriching experience for the designer. In 1999 NiCE opens an office in Madrid and Parolio is relocated in Europe as the branch’s Creative Director.
In 2001 Parolio starts his solo career collaborating as a freelance designer for agencies like Saatchi & Saatchi and Euro RSCG. He directed the design and implementation of the Special Editions department of the publication Zero, and was the creative director and co-editor of the Interior Design, Travel and Beauty publications of the magazine.
In this period he also developed his love for fashion photography and published in some of Spain’s more avant-garde magazines. Photographing celebrities like Paz Vega, Bimba Bosé, Alaska, Aitor Mateo and more…
In 2003 Parolio becomes the creative director of Pacha where he started designing sets and producing events.
In 2004 Parolio established Parolio & Euphoria Lab. S.R.L. a company that combines all his previous work experiences and offers a global, unique and original service. The new company has a large client base that includes: The Coca Cola Company, Missoni, Pacha, Diageo, Stage Entertainment, BMW, The Ministry of Industry Tourism and Commerce of the Government of Spain, Saatchi, Paz Vega, Trapote Grupo and many others.
Parolio & Euphoria Lab. has created and directed some of the major events in Madrid in the last five years, like the premiere galas of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast the musical, Mamma Mia the musical, The Wine Night, the opening ceremony of The International Forum of Digital Content FICOD, Flavio Briattore´s Billionaire party at Formula 1 of Valencia and Euphoria’s own Style Trend Show.
As Creative Director and interior designer he is responsible for the design and concept of some of Madrid’s hippest spaces, the restaurant Le Marquis, Pacha Madrid, Club Musée, Petite Mort, Rosé Marbella, Goldclub, The Marvel, Le Boutique Club and this Autumn, The Passenger.
Parolio has been invited to give lectures and show in many design schools and forums in Spain, New York and Latin America, including IED Istituto Europeo Di Design and Altos the Chavón the School of Design affiliated to Parsons, Casa Decor in Spain and the Interior Design Show of the Dominican Republic. His work has been published by media such as: Vogue, Elle, Elle Décor Italia, Proyecto Contract, The Coolhunter, Vanidad, Alter Ego, Marie Claire, Esquire, Cozy Home, Lacasa, El País, El Mundo, ADN, Metaphore, Diario Libre, Factoria, Listin Diario, Bob Korea, IW Korea, Aspire Dubai and the book Night Fever by Frame Publishers…
In 2009 he appeared in the list of the 100 most influential Latin personalities in Spain by the “Comunidad de Madrid” in an event that took place in the Palace of Linares “La Casa de America”, In 2011 he receive a special recognition by the Presidency of the Dominican Republic. In 2012 he was awarded the second prize in the International Design Awards for outstanding interior design in Los Angeles, California.
